The City of Springville City Council will hold a public hearing at the regularly scheduled meeting on August 17, 2020 at 6 p.m. to discuss the following:

  • Review for approval zoning recommendation of newly annexed property at 227 Heritage Valley Drive to RE, Single-Family Residential District.
  • Review for approval zoning recommendation of newly annexed property at 10255 US Highway 11 to R2, Multi-family Residential District.
  • Review for approval zoning recommendation of newly annexed property at 7240 US Highway 11 to R7, Annexed Non-Conforming District
  • Review for approval zoning recommendation of newly annexed property at 25 Lisa Lane to R1, Single-Family Residential District

The meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams.  A link will be provided at www.CityofSpringville.com as well as on the City of Springville’s Facebook page.  A link will be emailed to all who are on the City of Springville’s Public Notification List once it becomes available.

In accordance with Governor Kay Ivey’s proclamation of March 18, 2020 Section III, the meeting will be held by teleconference in order to deliberate matters related to COVID19 response and to perform essential minimum functions of the government body. The City Council of the City of Springville held a regular council work session at 5:30 p.m. on July 27, 2020.

The purpose of the meeting was to consider matters related to the response to the COVID19 pandemic and/or to perform essential minimum functions of the government body. The meeting was held by way of teleconference as authorized by a proclamation of Governor Kay Ivey on March 18, 2020.

The regular work session and meeting of the City Council scheduled for July 20, 2020, has been rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict.

The regular council meeting will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

There will be a work session at 5:30 p.m. In accordance with Governor Kay Ivey’s proclamation of March 18, 2020 Section III, the meeting will be held by teleconference in order to deliberate matters related to COVID19 response and to perform essential minimum functions of the government body.

The Board of Adjustments will hold a work session following the previously posted meeting on July 14th which is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 160 Walker Drive to discuss:

  • A special exception request by Adonai’s Field Ministries for property located at 107 Gin Street to allow a Place of Worship

There will be no public hearing at the work session.  A public hearing will be held at the meeting on July 28, 2020, when the Board will consider this request.  The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 160 Walker Drive.

The Board of Adjustments will hold a meeting on July 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 160 Walker Drive. Agenda items include::

  • A variance request from Article VII-6.1.1 of Zoning Ordinance 2011-12 by Scott Cole of Main Street Italian Bistro, located at 6470 US Highway 11, for placement of an accessory structure on a vacant lot behind the restaurant.
  • A variance request from Article VII-8.7.2.2 of Zoning Ordinance 2011-12 by Stacie (Staton) Strawbridge, located at 16 Spring Street, for a fence with a maximum height exceeding 6’ ft in the rear and side yard.
  • A variance request from Article VI-3.1.8 of Zoning Ordinance 2011-12 by Robert Ping of Shop Bob’s Unclaimed Freight, located at 37 Marietta Road, for placement of a trash dumpster unconcealed in the front yard of the business.

A public hearing will be held for the above-mentioned agenda items prior to consideration.
